This is Zeke (Ezekiel for long). He’s a wise old soul.
He’s been around the block and back, and boy, can he spin a yarn! All the Woollyboogers in town seek his sage advice. They stand outside his hut until he wakes, often not ‘til midnight. Then one by one they shuffle in and sit with him cross-legged around the fire while he pontificates on various and sundry things they ask. Their burning questions?
- Does the moon taste like marshmallows?
- How many acorns are too many acorns?
- Will I ever find a mate or just more woolly buddies?
Zeke considers each query thoughtfully before answering. He knows that as the village Elder, seer and soothsayer, his words hold weight.
Conversely, Zeke has a secret dream. He’s taking an online class called “The History of Comedy: From Chaplin to Chappelle.” As they come to him, he jots down jokes and quirky observations on color-coded index cards and stores them in a hermetically-sealed catalog in his basement. And though he knows stand-up is a serious business, he hopes someday to headline at the Komedy Klub and, for once, not be taken quite so seriously.
